Kushi Q
So on Friday, Serge was invited to do some awesome food tasting at Kushi Q thanks to Wilson and many thanks to Mr. Eden who is the owner of Kushi Q. Not forgetting Patricia who was Serge’s driver for the night.
Kushi Q is a small Japanese side-walk style eatery where the food is grilled using an automated grilling device. When you look at the food, you might remember of skewered kebab but since its Japanese style food, the fusion here is something to be said.
Now this will not be the first time Serge has eaten grilled sushi, but this will be the first time that he ever had something as good as this. The portions that was given to us who was there, might look small; but looks can be deceiving as it is quite feeling.
Starting from the left plate at the bottom, this is the Chicken Thigh with Leek & Sesame seed (RM2/stick), followed by Unagi (RM5/stick). The chicken here is succulent and because Serge did not like leeks, he put it away and then gobbled down the unagi (eel).
He has come across sushi restaurants where their unagi is either too soaking wet or too dry with the sauce and also the unagi did not have the right texture. This unagi here at Kushi Q was different, it hit well in all areas. The only complain that Serge will have is that, it tasted a lil bit too sweet.
Next to the unagi is mackerel (RM2.5/stick) and beef with pineapple (RM2.5/stick). Serge has no complains on the beef with pineapple as he was quite surprised that when you take both of it together at the same time, it has a rather pleasant taste. For the mackerel, it wasn’t a hit nor was it a miss.
Now this here is the bomb ! Even though it’s rice, an egg and some special mince sauce; Serge nearly died and went to heaven. The consistency of the rice was a little bit close to congee; yet when chewing, it felt like perfectly cooked rice.
Serge would love to talk more about Kushi Q but he will stop here. The pricing for each food is reasonable. The portions might not seem big but it is feeling. He would recommend anyone to go to Kushi Q.
