Supporting Your Camera

A tripod is one of the best equipment you or any photographer can get. But there’s a problem with good quality tripods and that is of the price as well as the weight plus size of it. Some of us photographers like to move about and shoot our subject that can be stationary or a moving object.
With a good quality tripod it is a hassle to lug it all around. So what about those cheap tripod ? Well you could go for it like what Serge did last time but it was too light for him and after three months of usage, it broke down. What does Serge use to support his camera ? A mini-tripod, gorilla-pod and the awesomeness called human ingenuity !
1If you have manboobs you are going to make a cleavage
Many times people will say that if you do not have anything to support your camera is that you need to bring your arms close to your body. This is true as an outstretch arm will get tired and will have minute muscle spasm and cause that tiny shake that BOOM ! And a once in a lifetime picture is totally ruin.

This is THE bad way to stabilize your camera with your arm. Serge is going to repeat, NEVER DO THIS. Even if you have image stabilizer and all the knick-knacks, don’t do this. From a person who have used this method before out of 10 shots, only 3 came out good.

We said earlier that you need to bring your arms close to your body. We agree that this is fundamental but we like to add that, you should not have your arms close to your body like the second picture that gives an A shape but to have your arms close to your body to give it a V shape.
Why the V shape method ? Simple, your elbow is close to your chest and is a precursor to Serge’s second tip.
2Breathe like there is no air
Serge would love to put a video of him breathing like a kung-fu master but kinda hard to pick up his breathing method. Anyway, the breathing method says that if you are running out of breathe, do not take a picture.
No matter how a lean mean machine you are, you will breathe heavy like an idiot when you’re out of breath and 99% of each exhale is exactly the time you release your shutter. Remember Serge said about the V shape method, this is why it is important and works together .
Breathe in and because your arms are directly on your chest you can feel your chest rise. Now breathe in slowly, finger on your shutter release. Hold your breath and while slowly pressing the shutter release, breathe out slowly. It may take sometime for you to get it right but when you do, your shots will be amazing.
There are other methods to support your camera to prevent shakes and the methods above was taken from :
