Bullshitting British Convincingly
After the previous post, Serge was given this awesome bit of interview from BBC’s Hardtalk from a community that he is in. Where Sarah Montague talks to Malaysian Foreign Minister Dato Seri Syed Hamid Albar.. It’s about 30 minutes long and in Real Player format.
This is what you call in the words of a Livejournalist out there ,
“…our minister does an excellent job of showing us the meaning of ‘Beating Around the Bush’.”
And surely enough, one could say that this one has beaten around many bushes.

Been reading this awesome thread which has some contents removed but due to the level of power bestowed upon Serge, he is able to see it. Of which a certain member of said thread has stated “Perks of being one”. Good lord, what have we done to deserve all of this asshattery ?
On this said thread which looms with epic proportions, the starter spoke about what we as Malaysians have achieved in the past 50 years. Of course, we did achieve a lot and we should in one way or another be proud of it. Though there are some of the replyee who has their right to express their opinions think other wise.
The Drama Llama in it has been neutered with great justice. Rights to say what one has to say is given, but if it is a necessity to be reprimanded to the fact that as a country on Easter morality; sometimes we just can’t actually handle the truth. And we all know that the truth hurts big time.

For those unable to see it: go here
Apparently we may have broken the chains of oppression yet we have chained ourselves down so much that we think it is actual freedom. Nice one Malaysia, go figure out now why your people is trying so much to get out of here.

Personally speaking, next week will be hell for the next 3 months. It’s going to be a transition period for the account Serge’s team is going to take care off as it is being outsourced. Most of the other people will begin to worry on the following Friday. Which is fortunate for them, yet unfortunate for Serge as he begins on Thursday at 2000hrs. Best part of all is that the handover is actually at 0001hrs on Friday, so it’ll be 4 hours of doing nothing at all. And since he is on shift, he’ll be there from 2000-0800hrs.
The days are getting shorter, the nights longer than usual. Oh how life has changed for better and for worse. In other news, been reading the case about that Malaysian who is in Taiwan, who somewhat dissed the national anthem of Malaysia. The following is a rough translation of the song which was done by June-E, of which Serge does not know what is so bad about it.

Building a protective environment
An estimated 300 million children worldwide are subjected to violence, exploitation and abuse including the worst forms of child labor in communities, schools and institutions; during armed conflict; and to harmful practices such as female genital mutilation/cutting and child marriage. Millions more, not yet victims, also remain without adequate protection.
Protecting children from violence, exploitation and abuse is an integral component of protecting their rights to survival, growth and development. UNICEF’s commitment to protecting children is underlined in our Medium Term Strategic Plan. We draw on our Core Corporate Commitments, the Convention on the Rights of the Child, the Millennium Declaration, and numerous international human rights agreements as the basis for our response.
UNICEF advocates and supports the creation of a protective environment for children in partnership with governments, national and international partners including the private sector, and civil society. National child protection systems, protective social practices and children’s own empowerment coupled with good oversight and monitoring are among the elements of a protective environment and enable countries, communities and families to prevent and respond to violence, exploitation and abuse
