Scones, Sooka and Service

Today Serge went out with Zoe for some afternoon tea at Winter Warmers located at The Curve. Delicious scones is delicious with good tea to boot. While the both of them were scone-ing, Nigel sms Serge to inform him of a food review at Zen Cafe,Sooka Sentral. Thus with Zoe, he went for it and met up with Bryan who was the one that invited us.

Just like any typical Malaysian function, it started at 1530hrs instead of the designated 1430hrs. This event is the Zen Star Chef where 6 contestants, compete to win a once in a lifetime trip to Australia to experience the culinary scene.

Well the food that was presented to the food bloggers and media was good, though the presentation could have been better. However the food that was serve to us to sample was blah and was not up to Serge’s standard. The only dish that was exceptional was by Alson Khor with the pan fried salmon serve with garlic beurre blanc.

The reason why Serge says it was blah is because, it was the in house cooks that did the dishes. They put the food out to early so it wasn’t warm, it was nearly stone cold dry. During this event Serge won a food voucher by Secret Recipe who takes care of Zen Cafe by guessing who the secret judge was.

Later at night he went to Zoe’s church for service and now he is back home. There are pictures for the food event but right now, Serge is lazy to put them up and he is tired.
