Placing it down
And the world still revolves around the Sun and nothing has changed at this crossroads of time. How a simple letter changes the life of one named Serge and how little it does to change the big picture. 60 days is what the contract has stated, 60 days to be here and on the 61st day which will fall somewhere around the 15th of December; Serge will leave this place.
The letter written. Signed, sealed and delivered in both electronic and in manual format. Three months here and only a bit of experienced. Three years in the Call Center line, the pay is obviously good and if searching for that much needed working experience then yes this is good. Yet being scheduled to work, to miss out on many events and to miss out on all public holidays has taken it’s toll.
Serge will not deny that the call center environment has thought him many things and has given him experiences like no other. It gave him an income, he found friends though it is up to the level of work relationship only and it even showed him the way a corporate business is run. No denying. But this is it, the choice to move onward to change to another job description, to work a Monday to Friday; 9 to 5 job with rest days on Saturday and Sunday.
People can be heard calling out to him, asking him why he wants to leave such a simple job and other questions added along that line. Times has changed, life changes, his life the life of Serge has changed. Even if the next job that he gets is at a lower pay, even if it could be a grieving job at least there is some happiness in it. He believes that as long as one loves the job any amount of pay is sufficient (obviously not too low until you cannot survive).
Until then, till we meet again.
