About Him and Having A Small Header
Recently Serge was reading Chris Brogan’s Make Your Blog Design Work For You. It was an insightful read as Serge began to interpret each paragraph and combine it to his current website. One of the major changes which he has made was to change the size of his header image.
The header image before this was at a height of 300 pixels and unless the reader’s monitor was at 1600*1200, the first post of Serge will not be that visible and thus most user would have been put off with that fact. By reducing the size of his header, reader’s are able to see the contents/main post immediately. Even though Serge still puts a picture for each post, having a smaller header does make a difference.
While he experiments on whether to continue to keep putting an image at the top of every post, on his sidebar right now, there is a small bio of Serge. This small bio coincides with his new About Serge page. The new about page contains a major revamp in the information that was there before. The old information that introduces Serge to the world was roughly 5 years.
Now the information for it has changed to be as up-to-date. Serge is not sure if his about page is sufficient or up to standards like Chris Brogan’s, but it gives Serge a sigh of relieve as his own about page is some what neat. True the words spoken, the about page is probably the most important page in Serge’s website or in any website.
For in it, it tells the world who Serge is, what is he about (could be a she) and lets the readers know in a nutshell that Serge writes about everything and anything. Might be a funny and at the same time serious guy without needing to repeat what Serge is all about.
With that said, Serge would like to thank Chris Brogan.
