Not being able to access Malaysia Today even with their alternative website has never hindered Serge from getting articles to write about or to make a joke about it. Apparently there are some range of ip addresses that can’t access Malaysia Today and some range can, Naoko… Serge hates you now. Anyway with the help of Lacrymosa , he manage to get some some articles which he found the headline interesting.

The following is the story of Mr. Thagarajoo, Nallakaruppan’s one-time driver, who swears that he brought Mr. Ji to Najib’s house every month to perform Hindu prayers and rituals. And it appears it is still going on until today.

Original article right after the jump !

Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak on Friday night swore in Masjid Jamek Guar Perahu near here (Permatamg Pauh) that he did not know or had any connection with Mongolian woman Altantuya Shaarribuu who was murdered in 2006 in Puncak Alam, Selangor. Najib said he was making the swearing although it was not an official swearing made on the Quran.

“Wallahi, Wabillahi, Watallahi (With Allah as my witness) I swear I do not know or have any connection with the Mongolian woman. I do not know if others want to swear or not but I know I did no wrong. This is between me and God,” he said. (Bernama, 23 August 2008)

That same day, Thagarajoo a/l Thangavellu also swore, through a Statutory Declaration, that Najib and his wife, who may be born Muslims, are practicing Hindus. Would, therefore, Najib’s oath, performed the so-called ‘proper’ Islamic way, be valid after all?

Interesting, who knows if this was a doctored article of if it is legitimate. Yet if one remembers the ancient history of this country, the Malays during the 1300s and before did not practice Islam but a form of paganism. It is only after the 1500s did this racial group begin to embrace Islam and during that time they embraced it for what it truly is. Of course one will still see that the former Gods of before still rest deep within through the believe of other divine help such as a Bomoh (medicine man), still live on even though someone embraces a belief system that tells a person to believe in ONE GOD only.

It is ridiculous to know that even other Abrahamic religions which believes in a ONE TRUE GOD, the citizens that upholds this belief will still belief in other things. Don’t believe Serge ? Well for those who is of the Malaysian Chinese ethnicity and believes in the teachings of Christ, 1 out of 5 of you who are still living with your parents will have a mother or a father that will go buy 4D to test their luck. Or you could be one in many families that believe in Feng Shui by wearing birth stone or rearranging furniture to bring in good qi.

How can Serge say such things ? He is in one and he tells it as it is. It is good to believe in something but to believe in something else at the same time is not something that Serge agrees upon. The cup is half-full, the cup is half-empty. Both legitimate claims yet both plays a different integral part in a person’s believe system.

Thus Serge would not be surprised if the article above really is true, all of us has that deep dark secret inside of us that says “We believe in one almighty God/Allah/Yahweh…BUT…we also believe in …… …”. How on earth did we ever sway away from what is righteous ? How did we fuck ourselves badly ?

Religion, such a strange thing. Or rather: religion in politics = the shit hits the fan. Or something or the like.

  2. Comment by Serge Norguard:

well it comes to say that somethings in life should never mix. Politics+religion, Work+romance, Idiots+idiots and the whole damn list goes on.
