Slayers Revolution - Eps 1

After ten years of waiting. Yes 10, TEN! T E N! years of waiting, JC Staff has hitted us with the awesomeness which we call Slayers Revolution. The last time Serge watch Slayers was Slayers Try and that was really long ago. But hey, Revolution is here and the 1st episode is comedic and lovely.
Slayers is a story revolving Lina Inverse and her cohort on their adventure around the world. The plot device of the Slayers series has always been Lina Inverse who holds a numerous amount of titles. Of which some of these titles are “Bandit Killer, Dragon Spooker (Short for “Dragons Step Past Out Of Clear Revulsion”), Enemy of All Who Live, Someone even a dragon wouldn’t mess with, Lina the Pink Sorceress”
In Revolution’s first episode, we see a group of bandits who just hit the jackpot and is on their way back home to celebrate like normal bandits do. Though they get a surprised visit by the Lina Inverse who has a demonic love for money. The bandits not wanting to part with their loot as they do not seem to know who is this mysterious attacker of theirs, takes out a hostage who is some hybrid fish-women.
Bad move on the part of the bandits. One, Lina doesn’t care and Two, as soon as the hostage saw Lina, she was more afraid of Lina then the bandits who wanted to kill her. What did you expect when you have Lina “Someone even a dragon wouldn’t mess with” Inverse standing in front of you ? Explaining the situation, the bandits too became afraid and lay down their weapons immediately.
Later in the episode, we see Lina , Goury , Amelia and Zelgadis in an inn. Then due to some incident Lina is put in cuffs and is brought out by the inspector of the city that they were in. And again destruction comes about with the one who even Dragons run away from.
Although, Serge will have to say that seeing Lina destroying any city that she is in.. by accident or by incidental purpose has gotten a little bit stale. Though we should not complain as that is a Slayers classic and by the end of this episode the all powerful Dragon Slave, comes out and yes… destroys the city.
The music intro and outro and the VA are in essence standard stuff. Seiyuus are the same and that is just so find. Do get the intro theme :
