Happy Moments

And so today marks the 1st day of February 2008 which coincides with Federal Territory Day in Malaysia. Life as we all know it has it’s ups and downs and curve ball that we just want to avoid. Yet it is this that makes our life happy, these are the moments Serge would like to talk about the Happy Moments in our life that we often take for granted.
What makes Serge happy ? Well the list can be like counting each grain of sand at a beach. But here’s a quick summary of things that can make him happy and bring on the happy moments of life, and in no particular order :
1. Friends
Yeah you heard him right and this is what he has hold true to his heart. He is not talking about just any friends, but friends who are “closer than a brother”. Gareth Tan, Marcus Ong, Teri Wong, Jaslyn Choo and others who has earned Serge’s respect and have fallen into that special category.
What about your other friends ? Serge did not forget about them, just because he did not write their names does not mean that they are not his friends. There was once this old guy who is now dead that once said “A silent friend is better than a noisy friend”, think about it. Serge rarely talks to his friends and yet somewhere, somehow there is that indescribable bond between him and them. This bond that no God can break has been forged between them.
2. Family
Without them, Serge wouldn’t even be in this world. Hell he couldn’t even be writing this entry. Thus the cries of pain, the shouts of anger, the spur of the moment where fights happen because of the misunderstanding of both parties due to the generation gap will happen. But at the end of the day, when the dust has settled, when the tears in the eyes of both parties has been wiped away and when their fists unclenched; they run back to each other hugging and kissing and forgiving one another.
You know this to be true. You might have once experience it before and the adage of blood is thicker than water, runs true for his. Thus you who reads this, no matter what happens, no matter how much you might hate your family; try not to.
3. Internet
Last but not least, the Internet. Without this awesome technology, how on earth will he ever get the latest TV Series before the Malaysian and say to them “Oh that show, seen it before I’m on season 5 *pause* What you mean it’s only season 1 now ?”. A cheeky reply from a cheeky person such as Serge, sure does bring the happy moments.
Well there are many many many maaaaaaaaaaaaaannnnnnnyyyy, other things to say. Things that could and can bring happy moments, but we will leave it as it is.
