After Comic Fiesta 2007

Recently on the 15th and 16th of December, a congregation of over 3000 plus people converge and move their asses in to Times Square. This was not an illegal gathering, but a legal gathering from all walks of life that had one thing in common.
One thing in common is that we all love good anime , mangas , doujins and anything in that circle. What Serge is talking about is Comic Fiesta 2007, probably Malaysia’s leading group in the Anime Comics and Games (ACG) scene.
So how was it ? Serge would say that it is good, but that is his viewpoint and this view point is from a committee point of view. Like all CF which has been held, the previous day will always be filled with back breaking plus arm crunching work. Yet, we love this job so much that we did not mind at all.
14th of December around 2000hrs, Serge was at Times Square with the committee preparing the event area. Packing the booklets, moving the whole stage which was probably one of the few solid stages he has scene. Besides that, arrangement of doujin booths were done. We all got back home somewhere around 0300hrs on the first day of CF.
15th of December around 0830hrs, arrived at Times Square. Prepared for the day, was somehow having a screwed up session during that time as some of his helpers for security did not show up. His voice died about 1400hrs, due to him coordinating both security and photography. Yet through the flames that Serge was walking on he moved on with great justice and good cheese.
While coordinating the front entrance’s traffic, something caught his eye. Serge saw a fox , a fox that was known to be the mother of CF. Serge stood up on tip toe and moved towards the direction of where the fox was and WHAM !. Who he saw was shocking, it was Mr. Roboto. Damn bitch gave him a heart attack as he was supposedly suppose to be missing this CF event. Would have killed him, but it was a public area.
Once the event was over, Serge probably got back home around 0200hrs and woke up around 0700hrs for the second day of CF.
On this day, everything was moving smoothly. The Cosplay Chess went on with such liquid movement, Serge was moved and was surprised as this was the second time we at CF did this event. Congratulations to Chocolime, Angel and Raincloud. Of course some mishap happen during this day of which it involved Serge’s security team.
What they did was somehow bitchy, how the hell could some of them not appear on this day but came yesterday and not contact Serge stating that they will not come today ? Others were going for their breaks even before their replacement came and other butt capping inducing incident occurred. Though the cons were there, the positive note of it all is that, without them… Serge would have died.
Onward to the low down of the departments. Ticketing did an excellent job by getting in the people and selling the tickets quickly. The Cosplay dept did a good job with the cosplay chess, though they should have told Serge that someone’s prop was “allowed”. Security and Photography will not be discussed as Serge did both and may make a bias report about it.
After the whole event was over, dinner was steamboat and then it was clearing up the hall and moving the tables and chairs out at 2200hrs before getting back home at about 0200hrs and slept like a pig.
