[B47] Fourteen
By Serge Norguard. Filed in Humour, Personal |Number 14 is considered to be one of the unluckiest numbers in Chinese culture. In Mandarin, to avoid confusion with other characters, the number 1 is often pronounced as “yao” in a numeric sequence; therefore, 14 when read as a numeric sequence is “yao si”. “Yao si” is also the pronunciation of “going to die” (要死 pinyin yào sǐ). In Cantonese, the normal pronunciation of fourteen is “sap6 sei3″, which sounds like “sat6 sei2″ meaning “certainly die” (實死). –source
Hilariously speaking, this the date that Serge was born. Well we can’t away from the reaper and Serge will eventually die. Though with this kind of belive, people are just stuck with it. Serge’s matron and his sister somewhat believes in the asshattery known as “bad” numbers.
As for Serge, numbers which is considered bad is just numbers. What is it about numbers that makes it bad luck ? Personally speaking it is our faith. If you believe in something so strong and with your fullest determination, an empty will always be full of food because your brains tell your mind to do so.
Believing in something so strong can bring an effect that it is either good or bad. But because Serge has a believe that one should fight for his own destiny, thus it is what one needs to do.
