And so this is the month where the goverment pushes everyone to raise the flag, this is the month of patriotism. The month where countless of numbnuts celebrate the independence of Malaya from the British people. This is also the month where the citizens of Malaysia tells the goverment, “Oh look i’m flying a flag im patriotic”. In which Serge will never know on why the goverment is so intent on getting the citizen to fly the flag.

For those who lived during the foreign occupation such as the occupation of Japan and British and othe countries of yore, they will be able to understand and they will be able to feel the need of patriotism. As for Serge and countless of young-ones, we have no idea on this matter. It’s not Serge is condemning the goverment for their pleas of “Oh love your country please”, but Serge is condemning the fact that the goverment has no idea on how to really set aflame the burning desire of patriotism in the hearts of the young one.

National Service which started around 2004 was an instrument by the goverment to instill patriotism into the hearts of the young one. First of all, there are some who have been patriotize by the service with the goverments’s patriot arrow and there are some who are still respectful of the country but not patriotic. If you want to get them, get them young. Not when they are 18, not when they have finished their secondary studies.

Serge for one is not a patriot but he does not disrespect this country entirely, of course when it comes to certain stupid issues such as censorship of movies and thoughts of people..that is where the line is drawn. But for the time being as long as no stupidness of the goverment doesnt affect Serge, he has only two words.
