UNICEF : a brief history

Filed in Blogathon, Personal |Unicef [United Nations International Children's Fund] was established on the 11th of December 1946.Headquartered in New York City, UNICEF provides long-term humanitarian and developmental assistance to children and mothers in developing countries. A voluntarily funded agency, UNICEF relies on contributions from governments and private donors. Its programmes emphasize developing community-level services to promote the health and well-being of children. UNICEF was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1965.
Unicef focuses on 5 main aspects, they are The primary educaion and gender equality,child protection, young child survival and development, and early childhood. Other aspects includes the child survival, child in the family and sports for development.
