not exactly a big movie buff, but when certain movies are being produced he can’t help but read the articles which is posted up on the web and even the bloggersphere. having said that, he was intriqued with the fact there is a prequel of prequel to the life and story of Hannibal Lecter.
Before we even begin, let us talk about Hannibal.
Dr. Lecter is vivid and terrifying. His eyes are maroon in color, and his voice has a hint of a metallic rasp. His teeth are small and white. A mature man well into middle age, Lecter is small and compact, and moves with unusual grace and silence. He has six fingers on one hand, the middle finger “perfectly replicated… the rarest form of polydactyly.” His sense of smell is highly developed as exhibited by his ability to detect Clarice Starling’s brand of perfume—L’Air du Temps—on their first meeting in The Silence of the Lambs, even though she hadn’t worn any that day.
Before he was caught, he was a respected psychiatrist and patron of the arts in Baltimore, Maryland. He was born in eastern Europe to an aristocratic family but suffered unspeakable hardship as a boy during World War II. Fourteen homicides have been attributed to him, though authorities suspect that there were probably others.
Hannibal a genius of a man, psychotic yet brings out the very essence of human nature.
Anyway, with films such as The Red Dragon, Silence of the Lambs and Hannibal which potrays Dr. Lecter… serge came across another Hannibal film in production, entitled Young Hannibal based on the novel Behind The Mask.
In this, what serge believes is a prequel of prequels… tells us the readers the story of Hannibal from his childhood in Lithuania to his teenage years in France and up to his time in America. 20-year old French actor, Gaspard Ulliel (A Very Long Engagement, Brotherhood of the Wolf) has been chosen to play the coveted role of the young Hannibal, the character brought to life by Anthony Hopkins with some of the most quoted and juicy lines in film history. Award-winning Chinese actress Gong Li will play Lady Murasaki, the woman who takes in the young Hannibal after his escape from an orphanage and unwittingly becomes the pawn in a revenge plot by Hannibal.
This film according to sources, should be in cinemas in 2006. and serge is waiting
