Tunku Abdul Rahman (full name : Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra Al-Haj ibni Almarhum Sultan Abdul Hamid Shah). He is to most of us malaysian the Father of Independence, our Bapa Kemerdekaan. This is the day when Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra Al-Haj (Malaysia’s Father of Independence) announce to the citizens of Malaya on the fields of the Padang Selangor Club (now known to many as Stadium Merdeka), the words that echoes through everyone who has made Malaya their own home.
